Neato D10 review: a robot vacuum cleaner that is as slow as it is durable

On the navigation side, between the Neato D9 and the D10, it's night and day. As much as the D9 navigated in a totally random fashion, the D10 performs rather methodical navigation and does not stop every 5 minutes to analyze its environment.

We therefore observed its movements in our laboratory in which we scattered sawdust in order to see what the D10 picked up. Throughout its journey, the D10 takes care to avoid obstacles, to pass under the curtains or even to walk along the baseboards to collect the dirt. Its biggest flaw on this point is its slowness since it took 30 minutes to vacuum our laboratory, while most of the robots we test do it in about 20 minutes.

Another pitfall, the robot does not always manage to return to its base when asked, and it has happened several times to stop dead in front of its charging station...
