204. Why do we have to pee more when we get home? 02:07

We have all had this unpleasant or even painful experience. When we have a more than pressing desire, it is when we arrive in front of our door that it becomes even stronger when paradoxically we are about to be liberated, delivered and finally going to empty our bladder.

Why do we want more to pee when you get home?

This urinary oddity is not a figment of the imagination, it has been studied and explained by scientists who have even given it the poetic name of "doormat syndrome". Basically, it's our brain's fault.

He is the victim of a kind of Pavlov reflex. This Russian scientist had proven that by stimulating dogs with a bell when he brought them to eat, after a while, just at the sound of this bell, the dogs salivated when he brought no food. There, it has nothing to do with mash.

Our brain has recorded the information that when we are in front of our entrance, there may be an emergency toilet! And so every time we arrive at our house, he reminds us briefly, especially since our bladder does not help him. It constantly sends information about its filling status. Well, our nervous system does the sorting and only warns the brain when a certain level is reached, the level "if you pass in front of the WC, there is no fire, but go ahead it will be done".

But where it gets complicated is that stress or being in a hurry, for example, sometimes causes the brain to misinterpret the information sent by the bladder and thinks that it must be emptied urgently when it is not yet the case.
