How to mount a garden arbor?

Raising a garden arbor is not difficult.Even if you are not a handyman, this little guide should help you for a good development of your garden.

There are several types of arbor: the backed arbor, which partially runs along the wall of your home or the self -supporting arbor which can be fixed anywhere, but which nevertheless requires a fixing on the ground. Finally, you will also find folding arbrians that do not require any ground fixing. However, they cannot stay outside all year round.

Start by choosing the location of your garden arbor: a flat floor is preferable, you can check it with a bubble level.A arbor can be fixed on lawn, the installation will then be easier than on a hard ground.

Bring one meter and a marker to indicate the place where the posts will be planted. For foundations, make a hole about 30 cm deep and fill it with concrete. Then equalize to get clean contours: use a PVC tube, push it into the concrete then smooth with a trowel. Then let dry (at least 2 to 3 weeks).

Finally, you just have to fix the posts on the foundations that you have prepared. Some screws sink vertically into the ground and others in the post, horizontally. Finally, you must assemble the last elements: the beams of the roof, the rigid roof or the canvas. For a rigid roof, it is best to assemble it first on the ground. All these steps are different depending on each model. It is therefore important to follow the mounting manual provided with your garden arbor.

What are the differences between arbor and pergola?

Arbor and pergola are two themes which are frequently confused. However, pergola is more the continuity of a house, with a “hard” structure. It therefore remains installed and available year -round, unlike the arbor that is put in the garage during the winter and which is mainly used to protect yourself from the sun during the summer.

If you are looking for a lasting installation, it is better to opt for a pergola. The latter allows you, in addition to creating a vegetable roof above a terrace, very pleasant when the weather is nice.Without forgetting that the pergola also protects you from the rain, which is why you can also use it in winter.A great advantage, what do you think?
