How to detach the upholstery and make it look like new?

Let's start with the simplest. When you have rid your vehicle of all your personal belongings, sweep and vacuum to dust the car seats. If you don't have a lot of dust, a hand broom is enough.

In addition, do not skimp on the accessories provided to reach small surfaces. Dust tends to become embedded in the interstices of the vehicle.

If you have seats with removable covers, first check if they are suitable for machine washing. Although usually this is the case, it is best to check the manufacturer's care guidelines. Then, apply a stain remover on them before pre-soaking them in a washing machine filled with warm water for 15 to 20 minutes. To prepare your own stain remover, you will once again rely on the essential baking soda to neutralize dirt in depth. To do this, dissolve 2 to 3 tablespoons of this white powder in 1 liter of hot water, stir and then apply the mixture directly to the stains. After 10 minutes, scrub with a soft brush or a toothbrush to better target the cleaning then rinse with cold water. Finally, let it dry before enjoying the result.

In addition, for cleaning fabric seats, you can use other foolproof tips based on white vinegar and baking soda to make your car interior shine. To do this, mix 1/3 cup of baking soda with a dab of liquid soap and a little water to form a paste. Apply the latter on the stains and let the product act. Then spray white vinegar on the stains, leave to act for a few minutes then scrub with a brush. Rinse with a damp cloth then dry with a microfiber cloth.

Although today the materials of our vehicles are more robust than before, leather remains a delicate surface that requires sufficient maintenance to preserve its quality. To achieve this without damaging the material, you can use linseed oil or baby milk to renovate it or even special leather products to clean the interior of the vehicle, including the dashboard. In any case, be sure to avoid cleaning with water so as not to damage the leather. If the leathers are particularly dirty, take a microfiber cloth soaked in soapy water based on black soap or Marseille soap. Gently rub the leather surface then finish the job with a special leather product.

Keep in mind that not all seats can be soaked with water. If it is a suede seat, avoid exposing it to moisture and favor dry cleaning. A common technique is to treat suede fabrics with a foaming cleanser intended for this type of cleaning. Generally, the product is accompanied by a special brush that allows the material to be processed. Rub the seat with the latter then let it dry before vacuuming it a final time to strip it of any residue.

Should it come as a surprise, in this case baby wipes can be used to absorb spills on upholstery but also to dust hard-to-treat surfaces like the vinyl in your vehicle. But before cleaning leather with these last ones, it is better to carry out a test to check if they do not leave stains on the material.
